The men's decathlon at the 2014 European Athletics Championships took place on August 12 and 13, 2014 in the Letzigrund Stadium in the city of Zurich .
European champion was Andrej Krautschanka from Belarus . He won ahead of the Frenchman Kevin Mayer . As in 2012, bronze went to the Russian Ilya Schkurenjow .

Ilja Schkurenjow won bronze like two years earlier
Arthur Abele, later European Champion ( 2018 ), finished fifth
Kai Kazmirek, later third in the World Cup ( 2017 ), reached sixth place
Rico Freimuth came in seventh place - he was then third in the 2015 World Cup and runner-up in 2017
