The long jump men at the 2014 European Athletics Championships was on 15 and 17 August 2014 in the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich held.

European champion was the British Olympic champion from 2012 and European Championship runner-up in 2006, Greg Rutherford . He won before the Greek Loúis Tsátoumas . Bronze went to the French Kafétien Gomis .

qualification

August 15, 2014, 7:30 p.m.

Thirty participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 8.00 m. Four athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the eight athletes placed next to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). In the end, 7.78 m had to be achieved in a second best attempt of 7.71 m for participation in the finals.
