Kafétien Gomis
Kafétien Antoine Gomis (born March 23, 1980 in Saint-Quentin ) is a French athlete with a best performance of 8.26 m in the long jump (2015). At a height of 1.85 m, his competition weight is 67 to 70 kg.

The Kafétien Gomis family comes from the Casamance region in Senegal. His association is the ASPTT Lille-Métropole .

Top performances
He is mainly a long jumper but has also participated in sprint competitions. His personal best in the long jump is 8.26 m. He succeeded on June 20, 2015 at the European Team Championships in Cheboksary , where he took second place in the individual competition. His best indoor result is a distance of 8.23 meters, which he jumped on February 28, 2016 in Aubière . In the 60-meter run he recorded a time of 6.91 s, which he ran in the hall on January 5, 2006 in Liévin , in the 100-meter run 10.76 s on June 22, 2003 in Tourcoing .
Long jump competitions
At the 22nd Universiade 2003 in Daegu he was ninth in the final. In his only Olympic participation in 2004 in Athens , he did not get beyond the long jump qualification with 7.99 m. At the 23rd Universiade 2005 in Izmir , he was seventh. He was more successful at the 19th European Championships in 2006 in Gothenburg with 7.93 m in the final and fifth place and exactly the same distance at the 29th European Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2007 and fourth place. In January 2007 he won an indoor meeting in Mondeville in front of Yann Domenech and Sebastian Bayer . With a jump of 8.09 m he won 2007 in Bordeaux before Salim Sdiri at the French Indoor Championships. In 2009 he was able to defend his French indoor title. At the 30th European Indoor Championships in March 2009 in Turin , he again reached fourth place with 8.12 m in the final. He won his first international medal at the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona. After 8.24 m in the last attempt, he took second place behind Christian Reif . He was also runner-up at the 2010 Athletics Continental Cup in Split with 8.10 m behind Dwight Phillips , the 31st European Indoor Championships in March 2011 in Paris behind Sebastian Bayer and the Francophonie Games in September 2013 in Nice with 7.81 m behind Adrian Strzałkowski .
