The Arkansas Mountain AVA is a wine-growing region that has been designated since September 26, 1986 by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the US state of Arkansas . The name also serves as a designation of origin for the wines produced there.

The vineyards are spread over the administrative districts of Pope County , Madison County and Crawford County in north-west Arkansas.

The Arkansas Mountain AVA is part of the Ozark Mountains growing area , which has been defined across states and has vineyards in the states of Missouri and Oklahoma in addition to areas in Arkansas .

With a defined area of ​​1,165,000 hectares, Arkansas Mountain AVA was the ninth largest acreage in the United States in 2008. Despite the enormous size of the area, there is hardly any viticulture.

A sub-region of the Arkansas Mountain AVA is the Altus AVA .
