Luis Felipe Méliz ( Luis Felipe Méliz Linares; born August 11, 1979 in Santa Clara ) is a Spanish long jumper of Cuban origin.

At the 1998 Junior World Championships in Athletics in Annecy, he won bronze.

In 1999 he won silver at the Universiade and bronze at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg . At the World Athletics Championships in Seville , he was eliminated in qualification.

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he was seventh. In 2001 he was ninth at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Lisbon and did not get past the first round at the World Championships in Edmonton .

In 2003 he finished fourth at the Indoor World Championships in Birmingham , won silver at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo and came eleventh at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis . At the 2004 Indoor World Championships in Budapest, he failed to qualify.

Starting for Spain, he finished seventh at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and fourth at the World Athletics Finals . At the 2009 World Cup in Berlin, he was eliminated from the qualification, and at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona in 2010 , he was eleventh.

In 2011 a sixth place at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris was followed by a preliminary round at the World Championships in Daegu .

In 2012 he finished eighth at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul and won silver at the European Championships in Helsinki . At the Olympic Games in London , he remained in qualification without a valid attempt.

In 2014 he won bronze at the Ibero-American Championships and was eliminated in the preliminary round at the European Championships in Zurich .

From 2008 to 2010 he was Spanish champion three times in a row. In 2010 he won the national title in the hall.
