The biological passport of the Turk Hakan Duvar , who was eliminated in eighth place in the first heat, had unauthorized deviations as of August 11, 2014. The runner's results since August 11, 2014 have been canceled. He was also given a four-year ban from December 26, 2016 to December 25, 2020.

After Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad's disqualification, Yoann Kowal was declared European champion

The first top ranked French Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad , two-time Olympic silver medalist ( 2008 / 2012 ), two-time World Cup -Dritter ( 2011 / 2013 ), two-time European champion ( 2010 / 2012 ) and European record holder and also here three days later European champion in the 1,500 meters , was disqualified because he had taken off his jersey on the home straight about 100 meters from the finish. At first he was only given a warning, but then disqualified after a protest by the Spanish team. Rule 142.4b of the International Competition Rules (IWR) was used for this purpose.
