The men's 3000-meter obstacle course at the European Athletics Championships in 1938 was held on September 5, 1938 in the Stade Olympique in the French capital, Paris .

The competition was not part of the EM program in 1934 and was therefore part of the European Championships for the first time.

The European champion was the Swede Lars Larsson . Second place went to the German Ludwig Kaindl . Bronze went to the Finn Alf Lindblad .
