The Athens Karaiskakis Stadium in 2009
The men's 3000 meter obstacle course at the European Athletics Championships in 1969 was held on September 18 and 20, 1969 in the Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens .
With silver and bronze, the Soviet runners won two medals in this competition. European champion was the Bulgarian Mikhail Schelew . He won before Alexander Morosow . Bronze went to world record holder Vladimiras Dudinas .

European champion Mikhail Schelew improved the championship record in the final on September 20 by 1.6 seconds to 8: 25.0 minutes.
