Annotation:

The fastest electronically timed time at European Championships - the winning time of the 1958 European Champion Armin Hary in the final on August 20, 1958 with 10.35 seconds - is unofficial as a championship record. Hary's time was unmatched at the 1969 European Championships.

The existing championship record was not set and not improved at these European championships. The races all took place with strong headwinds, so that fast times were not possible.
