The men's 100-meter run at the 1966 European Athletics Championships was held on August 30 and 31, 1966 in Budapest's Népstadion .
In this competition there were two medals for the sprinters from France: silver and bronze. The European champion was Wiesław Maniak from Poland . He won ahead of Roger Bambuck . Bronze went to defending champion Claude Piquemal .

The fastest electronically timed time at European Championships - the winning time of the 1958 European Champion Armin Hary in the final on August 20, 1958 with 10.35 seconds - is unofficial as a championship record. Hary's time was unmatched at the 1966 European Championships.
The existing official EM record of 10.3 s was not set at these European championships and was not improved.
