The 800-meter run for women at the European Athletics Championships in 1966 was held from September 2nd to 4th, 1966 in Budapest's Népstadion .
The European champion was the Yugoslav Vera Nikolić . Second place went to Hungarian Zsuzsa Szabó. Bronze went to the German runner Antje Gleichfeld .
