Waltraud Kaufmann

Waltraud Kaufmann , married Pöhlitz (born March 10, 1942 in Brockau ), is a German athlete and Olympic participant who was successful in the 800-meter run in the 1960s - starting for the GDR . Her greatest success is the silver medal at the 1962 European Championships in Belgrade (2: 05.0 min).

At the European Championships in Budapest in 1966 , she finished eighth (2: 12.1 min). She also started at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo , where she was eliminated in the preliminary stages.

In 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1966 she was GDR champion in the 800-meter run, in 1967 she was GDR champion in the 1,500-meter run (from 1966 under the name Waltraud Pöhlitz).

Waltraud Kaufmann belonged to the SC Chemie Halle . In her competition time she was 52 kg with a height of 1.61 m.
