The shot put women at the 1966 European Athletics Championships was on 30 August 1966 at the Budapest Népstadion discharged.

In this competition, the athletes from the GDR won two medals, silver and bronze. Nadezhda Tschischowa from the Soviet Union became European champion . Margitta Gummel was second, Marita Lange was third.
