The men's 50 km walk at the 1966 European Athletics Championships was held on the streets of Budapest on September 3, 1966 .

In this discipline there were two medals for the Soviet Union with silver and bronze. European champion was the Italian defending champion and 1964 Olympic champion Abdon Pamich . He won ahead of the world record holder Gennady Agapov. Bronze went to Alexander Scherbina.
