Gerhard Weidner
Gerhard Weidner (born March 15, 1933 in Magdeburg ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant.
Gerhard Weidner took part in the Olympic Games from 1968 to 1976 . His best result was sixth in the 50 km walk in 1972 .
From 1966 to 1978 he took part in four European championships . In 1974 Weidner was seventh over 50 kilometers. In 1976 he was ninth at the World Championships in 50 km walking.
Weidner was German champion in 1973, 1976, 1977 and 1979 over 20 kilometers and in 1966, 1974, 1976 and 1977 over 50 kilometers.
With a height of 1.70 m, Weidner's competition weight was 70 kg.

He started for TSV Salzgitter .
Honors
- In 1979 he was awarded the Rudolf Harbig Memorial Prize.
- In 1988 he was included in the Lower Saxony Sports Honor Gallery of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History for his services to sport in Lower Saxony .
- For his sporting success he received the silver laurel leaf from Federal President Walter Scheel .
