The men's 50 km walk at the European Athletics Championships in 1969 was held in the streets of Athens on September 18, 1969 .

In this competition there was a double victory for the walkers from the GDR. European champion was the 1968 Olympic champion, Christoph Höhne . Second place went to the 1968 Olympic gold medalist Peter Selzer . Bronze went to Weniamin soldiersko from the Soviet Union.
