Otto Bartsch (athlete)
Otto Bartsch ( Russian Отто Барч , English transcription Otto Barch; born December 20, 1943 in Bishkek ) is a former Kyrgyz walker who started for the Soviet Union .
In 1968 he was sixth in the 20 km walk at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City . At the European Championships in Athens in 1969 and in Helsinki in 1971 he was fourth in the 50 km walk .
At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he again came fourth in the 50 km walk . In 1974 he won silver in 50 km walking at the European Championships in Rome .
In 1976 he came in 13th place in the 20 km walk at the Olympic Games in Montreal , and in 1978 he came fourth in the 50 km walk at the European Championships in Prague .
In 1975 he became the Soviet champion in 20 km and in 1973 and 1978 in 50 km.
