Gustav Callenius

Gustav Friedrich Gottlob Callenius (born July 22, 1795 in Eyba , † April 17, 1836 in Rudolstadt ) was a German officer and writer .

Life

Born the son of a pastor, Callenius attended grammar school in Rudolstadt and from 1812 worked in the forest in Paulinzella . In 1813 he took part in the Wars of Liberation , including in the Corps des Major Colomb and as a volunteer with the Brandenburg Hussars . In the Battle of Bautzen he was on 20./21. Seriously wounded May 1813 and released home in 1814.

From 1815 to 1816 he studied forestry at the Tharandt Forest Academy , then in Jena . There he was a member of the original fraternity in 1816/17 . In 1817 he went into the Prussian community service. He took over the management of the new road construction in Mühlhausen. In the autumn of 1817 he was granted the license as second lieutenant of the Erfurt Landwehr Regiment . In 1818 he was responsible for the taxation of the Neustadt-Eberswalder Forest. In 1820 he became the administrator of the princely Rudolstadt estates Seedorf and Hornsdorf in Holstein. In 1823 he retired as a Prussian officer from the III. Battalion of the Landwehr Infantry Regiment No. 27 in Erfurt . In 1824 he was recalled from Holstein. In Rudolstadt he became commission secretary, in 1831 court secretary and finally in 1835 court councilor.
