The Neue Nekrolog der Deutschen is a biographical reference work with obituaries ( necrologists ) on deceased Germans, which appeared from 1824 to 1854 in 30 volumes and 3 index volumes.
The Nekrolog is a continuation of the Nekrologs by Friedrich von Schlichtegroll , which appeared from 1791 to 1806. The editor was Friedrich August Schmidt , the work was published by Bernhard Friedrich Voigt , initially in Ilmenau, and from 1835 in Weimar .
The successor was the work Biographisches Jahrbuch und deutscher Nekrolog by Anton Bettelheim , which appeared from 1897 to 1917 and deals with the dead from 1896 to 1913.
