The women's 800-meter run at the 2010 European Athletics Championships was held on July 27th and 30th, 2010 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in the city of Barcelona .
European champion was Yvonne Hak from the Netherlands . Second place went to Jennifer Meadows , who finished third in the British World Cup in 2009 . Bronze went to Lucia Klocová from Slovakia .

The European Championship record, which has existed since 1982 , was not achieved at these European championships either.
doping
In this competition, five other athletes were subsequently disqualified for violating the doping regulations:
- Maria Savinova , Russia , the original winner, was stripped of all her results between July 2010 and August 2013 by the CAS International Court of Justice. The verdict is based on clear deviations in the biological passport, which prove Savinova's violation of the doping regulations.
- Svetlana Kljuka , Russia , who finished eighth, was suspended in July 2012 due to irregularities in her biological passport, and her results were accordingly canceled.
- When Olga Cristea , Moldova , resigned in advance, excessive were testosterone observed values. She received a two-year ban, her result at these European championships was annulled.
- Swjatlana Ussowitsch , Belarus , eliminated in the run-up, it was proven in follow-up tests that she had already violated the doping regulations in 2008. Their results were accordingly canceled.
- Tatiana Andrianova , Russia , eliminated in the run-up, was caught several times for violating the doping regulations. Among other things, their results from July 26, 2010 to July 25, 2012 were canceled.
The following runners in particular suffered:
- The Dutchwoman Yvonne Hak received the gold medal instead of the silver medal with a delay.
- The Slovakian Lucia Klocová , who was initially fourth, was unable to take part in the award ceremony and received the bronze medal very late.
- The Lithuanian Eglė Balčiūnaitė could have participated in the final as runner-up in the first heat.
- The Ukrainian Julija Krewsun would have been eligible to start in the final over her time from the second run.

The preliminary round was carried out in three runs. The first two athletes per run - highlighted in light blue - as well as the two fastest runners - highlighted in light green - qualified directly for the final.
