The men's 4 x 100 meter relay at the 2010 European Athletics Championships was held on July 31 and August 1, 2010 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in the city of Barcelona .
France became European champions with the line-up of Jimmy Vicaut , Christophe Lemaître ( final ), Pierre-Alexis Pessonneaux , Martial Mbandjock and Imaad Hallay . Second place went to Italy with Roberto Donati , Simone Collio , Emanuele Di Gregorio and Maurizio Checcucci . Bronze went to Germany ( Tobias Unger , Marius Broening , Alexander Kosenkow , Martin Keller ).
The French runner, who was only used in the preliminary run, also received a gold medal.

Comment on the world record:
The relay from Jamaica had undercut the record of the US Americans at the 2008 Olympic Games , but was subsequently disqualified because their starting runner Nesta Carter was convicted of doping.
The existing EM record was not set at these European championships and was not improved.
Preliminary round
The preliminary round was held in two runs. The first three seasons per run - highlighted in light blue - as well as the two fastest teams - highlighted in light green - qualified for the final.

After winning the 100 and 200 meter races, Christophe Lemaitre crowned his success with victory in the French relay. Germany won the bronze medal behind Italy. Switzerland took fourth place with a new national record. A total of four national records were set in this race.
