Roberto Donati

Roberto Donati (born March 15, 1983 in Rieti ) is an Italian sprinter .

At the beginning of his career, Donati mostly competed in the 400-meter hurdles before he specialized in the shorter flat courses from 2007. In 2009 he was Italian champion in the 200-meter run and then nominated for the World Championships in Berlin . There he reached sixth place with the Italian 4 x 100 meter relay .

Donati celebrated his most significant success to date at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona in 2010 by winning the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay behind the French and ahead of the German team. The Italian relay with the line-up of Roberto Donati, Simone Collio , Emanuele Di Gregorio and Maurizio Checcucci set a national record with a time of 38.17 s.

Roberto Donati starts as a sports soldier for the Centro Sportivo Esercito , the army's sports promotion center. His older brother Massimiliano is also successful as a sprinter.
