Francesco Stradivarius

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Francesco Stradivari (born February 1, 1671 in Cremona ; † May 11, 1743 there ) was an Italian violin maker. Francesco was one of a total of eleven children of Antonio Stradivari and his first wife Francesca Ferraboschi, of whom only he and his brother Omobono were apprenticed to their father and followed suit in violin making.

Francesco Stradivari built large-bellied violins, often as copies of the instruments developed by his father.
