Omobono Stradivarius

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Omobono Stradivari (born November 14, 1679 in Cremona ; † June 8, 1742 there ) was an Italian violin maker. Omobono was one of a total of eleven children of Antonio Stradivari and his first wife Francesca Ferraboschi, of whom only he and his brother Francesco went to apprenticeship with their father and followed him professionally in violin making.

It is doubtful whether Omobono Stradivari ever built new violins or whether he only worked on extensions, conversions and repairs.
