The women's discus throw at the European Athletics Championships 2010 was held on July 27 and 28, 2010 in the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in the city of Barcelona .

The European champion was the Croatian Sandra Perković , who had her first major international success. She won before the Romanian Nicoleta Grasu , WM -Second 2001 , World Championship -Third 1999 / 2007 / 2009 and European Championship -Third 1998 / 2006 . Bronze went to Joanna Wiśniewska from Poland .

qualification

23 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for direct entry into the final was 60.00 m. Three athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the nine next placed athletes to twelve throwers (highlighted in light green). So finally 57.19 m was enough for the final.
