Anna Söderberg

Anna Söderberg (born June 11, 1973 in Knista , Örebro Province ) is a Swedish athlete who belongs to the extended world class in discus throwing .

Anna Söderberg won fifteen Swedish championship titles in discus throw from 1993 to 2007 and also won the hammer throw in 1997 and 1998. From 1994 to 1999 she improved the Swedish record in discus throwing ten times, which has since stood at 64.54 meters.

At the 1997 World Championships in Athens, she was able to qualify for a decision for the first time and reached eleventh place with 58.22 meters in the preliminary fight. At the 1999 World Championships , she was eliminated from the qualification at the 2000 Olympic Games and the 2002 European Championships . It was not until the World Championships in 2003 that Anna Söderberg managed to return to the top twelve in qualification. With 61.61 meters she also survived the preliminary fight and ended up in eighth place. At the 2004 Olympic Games , she was eliminated from qualification. Both at the World Championships in 2005 and at the European Championships in 2006 , she came into the preliminaries and took eleventh place. At the World Athletics Finals in 2006, she finished third behind Franka Dietzsch and Nicoleta Grasu with 61.50 meters. In her third participation in the Olympic Games in 2008 , she was eliminated for the third time in the qualification.

Anna Söderberg studied in the United States at Northern Arizona University , where she was honored with induction into the Hall of Fame. With a height of 1.77 meters, it has a competition weight of 85 kilograms.
