Sabine Rumpf (born March 18, 1983 in Wiesbaden ) is a German discus thrower .

Sabine Rumpf started throwing discus early on and starts for LSG Goldener Grund , to which she has been a member since birth. She has been trained in Selters by her brother-in-law Martin Rumpf together with Julia Bremser since 1998 . Rumpf achieved considerable success as a teenager, she was German youth champion in 2002 and fourth at the junior world championships, and in 2003 she was seventh at the junior European championships. In 2005 she achieved sixth place in the German Women's Championships as the German Junior Champion of the Year . The greatest success in 2005 was the victory at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Erfurt with 60.75 m in front of the Russian Darja Pishchalnikova . In the following year, Rumpf won the German University Championships, but she stayed at a best distance of 57.72 m, and in 2007 she only had 55.76 m. In 2008 she exceeded the 60-meter mark again, at the sports festival in Wiesbaden she improved her personal best to 61.81 m, which was Germany's annual best. For the first time she won the title at the German Championships. After 2009 was a little less successful - an appendix operation threw her back in the training plan, she managed a further increase in her best performance in 2010. She threw 62.21 m at the German Championships in Braunschweig and led the competition until the fifth attempt. However, the world's best of the year Nadine Müller countered and relegated Rumpf to second place. Before that, Rumpf had already exceeded the qualification standard for the European Athletics Championships 2010 at a sports festival in Eppstein with 60.56 m and was nominated by the DLV for the European Championships in Barcelona, ​​where she took seventh place with a width of 58.89 m.

Sabine Rumpf was in the sports promotion group of the Hessian Police from 2008 to 2012 and has been the police commissioner since January 2013 .
