Irache Quintanal

Irache Quintanal ( Irache Quintanal Franco ; born September 18, 1978 in Reus ) is a Spanish shot putter and discus thrower .

In the shot put of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she was eliminated in qualification. In 2006 she was the Ibero-American runner-up in the shot put and discus throw.

At the 2007 World Athletics Championships and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, she did not get beyond the preliminary round in the shot put again, and at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona she was eliminated in both the shot put and the discus throw.

So far she has been the Spanish champion in the shot put four times (2002, 2003, 2004, 2007) and five times in the discus throw (2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010). In the hall she won the national title in the shot put three times (2003, 2007, 2008).

Irache Quintanal is 1.74 m tall and weighs 82 kg. She is trained by Luis Lizaso. From 1999 to 2010 she started for FC Barcelona and then moved to Valencia Terra i Mar.
