The men's 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1982 European Athletics Championships was held on September 11, 1982 in the Olympic Stadium in Athens .

The Soviet Union became European champions with the line-up of Sergei Sokolow , Alexander Aksinin , Andrei Prokofjew and Nikolai Sidorow . Second place went to the GDR with Detlef Kübeck , Olaf Prenzler , Thomas Munkelt and Frank Emmelmann . Bronze went to the Federal Republic of Germany ( Christian Zirkelbach , Christian Haas , Peter Klein , Erwin Skamrahl ).
