In the same year he won two more silver medals at the Universiade in Mexico City over 100 and 200 meters.

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , he won the silver medal behind the Soviet and in front of the French relay together with Zenon Licznerski, Marian Voronin and Krzysztof Zwoliński in a national record time of 38.33 s. In addition, Dunecki took sixth place in the 200-meter run. In 1981 he won the Polish relay team at the World Cup in Athletics and, for the second time since 1979, at the European Athletics Cup .
