Hermann Lomba (born October 11, 1960 in Pointe-à-Pitre ) is a former French athlete who specialized in the sprint .

Life

Lomba became French champion in the 200-meter run in 1982 . At the European Championships in Athens he reached the semi-finals over this distance. He also finished seventh there with the French 4 x 100 meter relay .

Further noteworthy results from Lomba can only be proven again in the 1990s. At the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo, he reached the quarter-finals over 200 meters. He had his most successful season in 1994. At the Francophonie games in Paris, he won the 200-meter run. A few weeks later he won the gold medal for France at the European Championships in Helsinki in 1994 in the 4 x 100 relay together with Éric Perrot , Jean-Charles Trouabal and Daniel Sangouma . He also competed in Helsinki in the 100-meter run , but narrowly missed the finals.

Lomba took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta as a member of the French 4 x 100 meter relay . However, the team did not reach the goal in the final.
