Manfred Kersch

Manfred Kersch (born September 19, 1913 in Frankfurt am Main ; † May 2, 1995 ibid) was a German athlete and Olympian who won the gold medal at the 1938 European Championships in Paris with the German 4 x 100 meter relay ( 40.9 s; Manfred Kersch, Gerd Hornberger , Karl Neckermann , Jakob Scheuring ).

At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 and at the European Championships in 1938, he started in the 100-meter run and was eliminated in the preliminary (1936) and semi-finals (1938).

At German championships he came second in the 100-meter run three times (1936, 1938 and 1940). In 1943 he was German champion with the 4 x 100 meter relay of Eintracht Frankfurt. On August 13, 1938, he was involved in the German record in the 4 x 100 meter run in Berlin : (40.3 s; Manfred Kersch, Gerd Hornberger , Karl Neckermann , Jakob Scheuring )

Manfred Kersch belonged to the sports club SV Weißblau-Allianz Frankfurt . During his competition time he was 1.69 m tall and weighed 62 kg.
