Levan Sanadze ( Georgian ლევან სანაძე , Russian Леван Санадзе , English transcription Levan Sanadze , born August 16, 1928 in Tbilisi , † August 24, 1998 in Moscow ) was a Georgian athlete who competed internationally for the Soviet Union and was particularly successful as a relay runner was.
At the European Championships in Brussels in 1950, Sanadze won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay in front of the teams from France and Sweden together with Vladimir Sucharew , Levan Kalyayev and Nikolai Karakulov . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 he won the silver medal behind the US relay together with Boris Tokarew , Levan Kalyayev and Vladimir Sucharew. In the 100- and 200-meter run , he could not qualify for the finals. Finally, he completed his collection of medals at the 1954 European Championships in Bern .
