László Zarándi

László Zarándi (born June 10, 1929 in Kiskunfélegyháza ) is a former Hungarian athlete who specialized in the 100-meter run and was particularly successful internationally as a relay runner.

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , the Hungarian 4-by-100-meter relay won the bronze medal behind the US and Soviet teams in the line-up of László Zarándi, Géza Varasdi , György Csányi and Béla Goldoványi . Zarándi was eliminated in the lead over 100 meters.

At the European Athletics Championships in 1954 in Bern, he succeeded in winning the title in the 4 x 100 meter relay. The Hungarian team set a championship record in the 1952 Olympic line-up with a time of 40.6 seconds and relegated the British and Soviet relays to their places.
