Julian Golding

Julian Golding (born February 17, 1975 in London ) is a former British sprinter who competed in the 200-meter run in the 4-by-100-meter relay .

Life

In 1994 in Lisbon Golding was junior world champion with the British relay. 1997 in Turku he won at the U23 European Championships in 20.46 s gold over 200 meters and in 38.99 s gold in the relay. At the 1997 World Championships in Athens , he was eliminated over 200 meters in the semifinals. With the British relay he reached the final. Darren Braithwaite , Darren Campbell , Douglas Walker and Golding won bronze behind the relay from the United States and Nigeria in 38.14 seconds.

In 1998 Golding finished fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Valencia in 20.84 s. At the European Championships in Budapest , three Britons stood on the podium after the 200-meter run. Walker won in 20.53 s in front of Douglas Turner in 20.64 s and Golding in 20.72 s, with Golding finishing at the same time as the Dutchman Troy Douglas and receiving the bronze medal only because of the finish photo. The next day, Allyn Condon , Campbell, Walker and Golding also won the season title in 38.52 seconds. Four weeks after the European Championships, the 1998 Commonwealth Games took place in Kuala Lumpur . Golding won the 200 meters in 20.18 s. The English season in the line-up Dwain Chambers , Marlon Devonish , Julian Golding and Darren Campbell won in 38.20 s ahead of the Canadians.

In 1999 Golding was seventh at the World Championships in Seville over 200 meters in a time of 20.48 s. At the European Indoor Championships in Ghent in 2000 , he won bronze in 21.05 s.

Golding is 1.83 m tall and weighed 68 kg during his competitions.
