Antoine Richard (born September 8, 1960 in Fontainebleau ) is a former French athlete .

The 1.74 m tall and 63 kg heavy Richard started for CS Fontainebleau and was one of the best sprinters in France in the 1980s . He was five times national champion in the 100-meter run (1981, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986) and once in the 200-meter run (1984). In addition, he won the national championship title in the 60-meter run in the hall five times in a row between 1982 and 1986 . In 1986 he improved Roger Bambuck's almost 18-year-old French record in the 100-meter run by two hundredths of a second to 10.09 s.

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, Richard won the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay with Pascal Barré , Patrick Barré and Hermann Panzo behind the teams from the Soviet Union and Poland. It remained his most important international success, although he achieved a few more finals with the relay in the following years: 7th place at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 , 8th place at the 1983 World Athletics Championships in Helsinki, 6th place at the Olympic Games 1984 in Los Angeles and 4th place at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart. In addition, he won the silver medal in the 60-meter run at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Piraeus in 1985 , after having finished fourth in each of the two previous events.

After a positive doping test , he was banned for two years in 1987.
