The Limbach-Oberfrohna Zoo is a small zoological garden in the Saxon city of Limbach-Oberfrohna . It is located at the city park and borders the Limbacher Teiche nature reserve.
history
The zoo, founded in 1959, currently houses more than 200 animals from 68 species, including Chinese leopards , bobcats and flamingos . The latter live in Flamingoland , a facility that was opened in 2013 and is spanned by nets with other water bird species. There is a petting zoo in the shape of a farm.
In 2011, a zoo school opened for children, offering biology classes for the city's schools.
The zoo association has set itself the goal of developing the zoo into an America theme park. The development plan drawn up by the development association together with the zoo management was approved by the city council in 2010.
