Christian Zirkelbach (born December 10, 1961 in Würzburg ) is a former German athlete who won the bronze medal at the 1982 European Championships with the German 4 x 100 meter relay (38.71 s: Christian Zirkelbach, Christian Haas , Peter Klein , Erwin Skamrahl ). In the 100-meter run of these European championships, he was eliminated in the preliminary run. At the Olympic Games in 1984 he was used in the run-up to the 4 x 100 meter relay, which finished fifth in the final.

Christian Zirkelbach belonged to the sports club LAC Quelle Fürth . During his competition time he was 1.86 m tall and 79 kg.

Zirkelbach attended the Friedrich-Koenig-Gymnasium in Würzburg from 1975 to 1981 , where he completed the 100-meter final in 12.1 seconds in 1977. In 1981 he was nominated for the second time for the national team because of his performance at the German championship in the 100m sprint. From 1984 to 1988 he studied mathematics and computer science at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . Christian Zirkelbach has been Professor of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) since 2009 .
