Zirkelbach attended the Friedrich-Koenig-Gymnasium in Würzburg from 1975 to 1981 , where he completed the 100-meter final in 12.1 seconds in 1977. From 1984 to 1988 he studied mathematics and computer science at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . Christian Zirkelbach has been Professor of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) since 2009 .
