The men's 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1998 European Athletics Championships was held on August 22 and 23, 1998 in the Népstadion in the Hungarian capital, Budapest .

Great Britain won the European championship with Allyn Condon , Darren Campbell , Douglas Walker ( final ) and Julian Golding ( final ) as well as Marlon Devonish and Dwain Chambers, who were also used in the preliminary stages . Second place went to France with Thierry Lubin ( final ), Frédéric Krantz , Christophe Cheval and Needy Guims as well as Rodrigue Nordin, who was also used in the preliminary run . Bronze went to Poland ( Marcin Krzywański , Marcin Nowak , Piotr Balcerzak , Ryszard Pilarczyk ).

The runners only used in the run-up were given corresponding precious metal.
