The men's 100-meter run at the 1998 European Athletics Championships was held on August 18 and 19, 1998 in the Népstadion in the Hungarian capital, Budapest .

On this short sprint route , there was a double victory for the British athletes. European champion was Darren Campbell . Second place went to Dwain Chambers . Bronze went to the Greek Harálabos Papadiás .
