Alexandr Porchomovsky

Alexandr Porchomowski ( Hebrew אלכסנדר פורחומובסקי, Russian Александр Порхомовский , engl. Transcription by Aleksandr Porkhomovskiy ; * August 12, 1972 in Moscow ) is an Israeli sprinter of Russian origin.

At the World Athletics Championships in 1993 he reached the semi-finals over 100 m . In 1994 he was fourth over 60 m at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris and won bronze over 100 m at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki .

At the World Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 and at the 1997 World Championships in Athens, he reached the quarter-finals over 100 m. Over the same distance he won silver at the 1997 Universiade and at the 1998 European Championships in Budapest.

From 1999 he started for Israel. At the 1999 World Championships in Seville, he was eliminated over 100 m in the quarter-finals, at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton and at the 2002 European Championships in Munich, he did not get beyond the preliminary run in this discipline.

Four times he was Russian champion over 100 m outdoors (1992-1994, 1998) and once indoors over 60 m. In 1999 he became the Israeli champion.
