The men's 100-meter run at the 1990 European Athletics Championships was held on August 27 and 28, 1990 in the Poljud Stadium in Split .
In this competition, the British sprinters won two medals, gold and bronze. European champion was the defending champion and third in the 1987 World Cup, Linford Christie , who had received Olympic silver in 1988 despite a positive pseudoephedrine result. He won ahead of the Frenchman Daniel Sangouma . Bronze went to the third place in the World Championship in 1987 over 200 meters John Regis .

Record improvement
European champion Linford Christie improved his own EM record in the first semi-final on August 28th by six hundredths of a second to 10.09 s. His winning time of 10.00 s achieved in the final was not ready for the best in the list due to a tail wind that was 0.2 m / s too strong.
