The women's 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1990 European Athletics Championships was held on September 1, 1990 in the Poljud Stadium in Split .

The GDR became European champions with the line-up of Silke Möller , Katrin Krabbe , Kerstin Behrendt and Sabine Günther . Second place went to the Federal Republic of Germany with Gabriele Lippe , Ulrike Sarvari , Andrea Thomas and Silke-Beate Knoll . Bronze went to Great Britain ( Stephanie Douglas , Beverly Kinch , Simmone Jacobs , Paula Thomas ).

Record improvement

The European championship relay from the GDR improved the existing EM record in the line-up of Silke Möller , Katrin Krabbe , Kerstin Behrendt and Sabine Günther in the final on September 1st by sixteen hundredths of a second to 41.68 seconds
