The men's 20 km at the 1990 European Athletics Championships was held on August 28, 1990 in the streets of Split .

The European champion was the Czechoslovak European Championship third from 1982 Pavol Blažek . He won ahead of the Spaniard Daniel Plaza . Bronze went to the French Thierry Toutain .
