The men's 20 km walk at the 1962 European Athletics Championships was held on September 12, 1962 in the streets of Belgrade .
The British Ken Matthews became European Champion . He won before the GDR goalkeeper Hans-Georg Reimann . Bronze went to the 1960 Olympic champion Volodymyr Holubnytschyj from the USSR.
