Dieter Lindner (athlete)
Dieter Lindner (born January 18, 1937 in Nebra ) is a German athlete .
He started in the joint German team for the GDR and won the silver medal in the 20 km walk (1:31:14 h) at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo . Another highlight of his career was the victory at the European Championships in 1966 (1: 29: 25.0 h).
Dieter Lindner started for SC Progress Weissenfels under coach Gerhard Buschendorf , later for SC Chemie Halle under coach Paul Ilisch .
When he competed, he was 1.74 m tall and weighed 66 kg.
