Career

Holubnytschyj is an absolutely exceptional athlete in the 20 km athletics discipline , who has participated in five consecutive Olympic Games. At the European Championships he achieved bronze in Belgrade in 1962 , silver in Budapest in 1966 and gold in Rome in 1974 .

At his first Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , he immediately won the gold medal in front of the Australian Noel Freeman and the British Stan Vickers .
