Noel Freeman
Noel Freeman ( Noel Frederick Freeman ; born December 24, 1938 in Preston , Queensland ) is a former Australian walker .
At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he won the silver medal in a 20 km walk in 1: 34: 16.4 h behind Volodymyr Holubnytschyj from the Soviet Union (1: 34: 07.2 h) and ahead of the British Stan Vickers (1:34 : 56.4 h). He was disqualified in walking 50 km . In 1964 he finished fourth over 20 km at the Tokyo Olympics and in 1970 he won gold over 20 miles at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh .
Six times he was Australian champion over two miles or 3000 m (1959, 1960, 1962-1964, 1968), twice over 20 km (1963, 1970) and once over 50 km (1960).
