Daniel Plaza

Daniel Plaza ( Daniel Plaza Montero ; born July 3, 1966 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish walker and Olympic champion .

He won a silver medal at the 1990 European Championships in 20 km walking and a bronze medal at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart .

At the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 he won the gold medal over 20 kilometers, ahead of the Canadian Guillaume LeBlanc (silver) and the Italian Giovanni De Benedictis (bronze).
