The men's 800-meter run at the European Athletics Championships in 1962 was held from September 13 to 15, 1962 in Belgrade's Partizan Stadium .
With gold and bronze there were two medals for the all-German team. GDR runner Manfred Matuschewski became European champion . He won before Valeri Bulischew from the Soviet Union. Bronze went to the West German European Championship third from 1958 Paul Schmidt .
